FAQs
How do I get started?
All newcomers start out by coming to their first meeting. You do not have to inform us ahead of time; our doors are open to you.
Are there membership requirements?
The only requirement for AA membership is a desire to stop drinking.
Do I have to pay membership dues?
There are no fees or dues associated with AA membership. We rely on “7th Tradition” donations to help us pay for things like rent.
How can I keep in contact?
We have a group chat that you can join. Stop by a meeting and ask the meeting chair or another AA member to add you to the GroupMe. However, the best way to keep in contact is to come to meetings and hear announcements about upcoming events and other important Hutto Fellowship Group news.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved! Our group meets on the second Thursday of each month at 8pm to discuss group decisions. We call these “Group Conscience” meetings. At these meetings, you can volunteer for an open board position, initiate a project, or voice your opinions.
We also have a budding Hospitals & Institutions (H&I) initiative. Take the message to the alcoholic who still suffers at treatment centers, rehabs, and hospitals. Ask your meeting chair or another AA member to get connected to our H&I coordinator.
Is Hutto Fellowship Group affiliated with any other entities?
As a matter of adherence to the 6th Tradition, Hutto Fellowship Group is not affiliated with any institution. We do maintain working relationships with various organizations, such as Hill Country Intergroup, AA World Service, and the church we rent our space from, but these relationships do not constitute affiliations.
